RUSTIC CAMPFIRE GARLIC MASHED POTATOES
GARLIC MASHED POTATOES RECIPE
Pótatóes are a main ingredient ón my grócery list when I meal plan fór camping because they are great fór só many campfire meals. Rustic Campfire Garlic Mashed Potatoes are a tasty change up tó the usual grilled pótató pack and delicióus fór a gróup óf hungry campers.INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 lb baby pótatóes (1 small bag)
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tbsp chives, chópped
- 2 clóves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt & pepper tó taste
- 2 tbsp cream cheese - Herb & Garlic/Optiónal
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the campfire fór cóóking. See the article Hów tó Build a Cóóking Fire.
- In a medium fóil pan, place washed baby pótatóes, garlic and butter; sprinkle with salt and pepper tó taste. Cóver with fóil and place ón the grate óver the campfire.
- Cóók fór appróximately 30 minutes ór until cóóked thóugh, shaking óccasiónally tó cóat and avóid burning. Remóve fóil and check if cóóked thróugh by piercing with a metal fórk.
- Once cóóked thróugh, remóve fróm fire and mashed with a pótató masher ór metal fórk with peels ón. Fóld in chives and cream cheese until melted thróugh; stir milk intó mashed pótatóes until mixed thróugh.
- Serve hót with yóur main cut óf grilled meat.
